Every dollar donated to our campaigns will be used to enrich the lives of women and girls in our community.
Empowerment Camp for Girls
It’s a She Thing, Inc.’s Empowerment Camp is a two-week summer institute for girls ages 10-15 years old. The camp focuses on health and wellness, nutrition, body and self image, social media, entrepreneurship, and much more. Donations received contribute to scholarships, camp supplies and staff stipends.
Willie Mae Loomis Scholarship Fund
The Willie Mae Loomis Scholarship was created in honor of the Late Willie Mae Loomis, mother of Veronica Loomis. The scholarship rewards a female high school senior with funding that can help with college expenses or dorm necessities. The scholarship recipient is announced annually in June.
SheMatters Services and Resources
It’s a She Thing, Inc. provides services to women and girls who have encountered traumatic experiences. Resources include, but are not limited to emergency shelter, locksmith services, transportation assistance, Order of Protection assistance, workshops and training.
Community Engagement
We’re devoted to serving our community by staying engaged through various events, talks, and support groups throughout the year. By becoming a donor, you’ll be helping us ensure that our community will have access to the most beneficial opportunities for them.
