A girls’ night in
Mother-daughter duo Veronica Loomis and Mikayla Barnett gather women together. That evening grows into a lasting commitment to women and girls.
2019
It’s a She Thing, Inc.
The gathering becomes a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, giving our community a lasting home for practical support and connection.
2021
Groceries to every borough
In June, our monthly grocery plan begins packing and personally delivering groceries to families throughout all five boroughs. Our founders also receive the Impact Award at 92Y’s Extraordinary Women Awards.
Today
Hundreds reached
Through monthly She Talks, community outreach, the Empowerment Camp for Girls and SheMatters resources, we have reached hundreds of women and girls in New York and beyond. Our history also includes the COVID-19 Relief Fund and the Willie Mae Loomis Scholarship.
